The Lékédi Reserve, which spans 14,000 hectares in southeastern Gabon, is a true scientific station dedicated to the study and preservation of the flora and fauna of Gabon’s forests, swamps, and savannas. It offers an exceptional natural setting for biodiversity research, with a diversity of habitats and species conducive to ecological monitoring and the production of knowledge.
The reserve is equipped with suitable infrastructure, such as a laboratory, accommodations for researchers, and a strong connection with local communities. These assets support long-term programs in research, conservation, training, and awareness-raising.
The Foundation has previously hosted scientists for the observation and study of birds and insects, and discussions are underway regarding bats.
A fully equipped station in the heart of the reserve

The scientific station accommodates scientists who undertake long stays in exceptionally comfortable conditions for such an isolated site.
Six individual rooms and two studios equipped with private bathrooms and air conditioning are complemented by a shared kitchen, a laundry room, and a spacious patio for meals.
Another accommodation structure for shorter stays facilitates the housing of about ten people in individual rooms. Shared bathrooms and a communal kitchen, as well as a large hall, complete the setup.
For research purposes, an equipped analysis laboratory is available, along with a veterinary clinic and a meteorological station.
